Lawyer C. Kevin Leonard of Concord, New Hampshire has filed a class-action lawsuit in federal court against Hannaford who allowed a security breach that left 4.2 million account numbers open to hackers, with 1,800 cases of fraudulent use.
The lawsuit alleges that Hannaford failed to adequately protect its customers' private financial information and was negligent in failing to alert customers of the breach in a timely manner.
This is at least the third class-action case brought against Hannaford since it announced the security breach Monday.
