Michigan Identity Theft Case

A Howell woman has been recently sentenced in an id theft case to prison time for stealing her former husband's identity.

Rosemarie Brown was sentenced in Livingston County Circuit Court to a maximum of 25 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections.

Brown was convicted of uttering and publishing, using a computer to commit the crime and identity theft for using her ex-husband's bank accounts.

Brown was given the same sentence in a separate case for writing two fraudulent checks totaling almost $1,000 on a former boyfriend's bank account.

Brown has prior convictions that date back to 2001 that include forgery in Ingham County and larceny, along with multiple counts of uttering and publishing in Livingston County, Michigan.
