A Severn, Maryland man was recently sentenced to more than 6 years in prison and restitution of at least $120,000 for stealing people’s identities and gaining access to private and corporate credit accounts.

Ronald Steven Williams II pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to engaging in fraud activities from June 2001 to July 2006.

Williams submitted false information to the lender to secure a $165,156 mortgage, and 3 years later sold the home using his own name and a different social security number (SSN), which belonged to an infant.

Prosecutors also mentioned that Williams used false identification to open up lines of credit for tens of thousands of dollars over the years of his activities.
